We had used Earthlink dial up email for a very very long time, many years. We opened and have used DSL internet and email with another company for years, and decided to close those old Earthlink email accounts that we do not use.

We reviewed the accounts online, which were all junk email and chose to contact Customer Service by phone, but they were not available at that time. When given the option online to "Chat" with Earthlink, their customer service offered to help. After asking to cancel our account, they gave the customer service phone number, but did not provide the hours for assistance, which was closed after 8 pm. We called the next day when they were open and available.

However, their customer service man was difficult to understand as his speech had a very strong foreign accent. We asked to cancel many times, and he would reply, which we could not always understand him fully and sometimes not at all. It seems like they wanted us to continue service for another month, or at a reduced low monthly cost, but we had asked to cancel. We repeated the request to cancel now.

The man finally agreed and put us on hold for a long time, and came back with confirmation this account is now closed. We really hope it is, because we do not want to have to try to communicate with customer service and contact Earthlink again!
